Here is a song, specially dedicated to someone who is going through a “tempting heart” experience…

Sometime, what we miss seem to look more beautiful because we can never own it. All the fairytale end with a “happy ever after” title. The story will never continue with the daily up and down, routine and challenges the couple are facing in their actual life.

A snow letter

I received an interesting message from a close friend who’s currently staying in Beijing – a snow letter. Beijing is having their winter snow fall now. Currently count down to the 4th “Nine” snowing phase.

They have a song…named, the “Nine Nine Song” 九九歌

一九二九不出手；三九四九冰上走；
五九六九沿河看柳；七九河开八九雁来；
九九加一九，耕牛遍地走。

1st Nine 2nd Nine hide your hand; 3rd Nine 4th Nine walk on ice; 5th Nine 6th Nine site seeing at riverside; 7th Nine river defrost 8th Nine bird came; 9th Nine plus 1st Nine, cattle start sawing.

This is a direct/ literally translation from the song. Hope you can catch the meaning. Any of you who can read Chinese, please give me a hand (in comment), if you can translate the song without loosing the essence of it.

冬至日的开始也是“数九”的开始，每九天为一个阶段，叫做“九”，第一个九天叫一九，第二个九天叫二九，……直到第九个九天，谓“九九”。九九共81天。

The “Countdown of Nine” begin when the winter arrive. Every phase contains nine days, also called “Nine”. The first phase call 1st Nine, second call 2nd Nine and etc…until the last Nine, which is the 9th Nine, is describe as “Nine Nine” total of 81 days.

Basically, the letter only contains my name and that’s all. There isn’t anything fantastic about it, but to me…it only shows she’s thinking of me (or maybe the warm temperature in Malaysia ^_~), but that’s all I need to know.
